ICSI CSEET October 2026 Late-Fee Enrolment Closes on August 20: Fees, Centre-Change Window and SIP Requirement

What has changed
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has reached the final day of its late-fee enrolment window for the CSEET October 2026 examination. Under the official examination announcement issued by ICSI's Directorate of Student Services, candidates who missed the normal enrolment deadline of 15 August 2026 can still submit the examination enrolment with late fee up to 20 August 2026.
The update is particularly important for students using the Canara Bank challan route because ICSI has separately clarified that a challan generated during 16-20 August must be backed by an actual cash deposit with the bank on or before 20 August. Deposits after that date can lead to rejection of the examination enrolment application without further notice.
What the official schedule says
ICSI opened examination enrolment for the October 2026 CSEET session on 16 July 2026. The last date without late fee was 15 August 2026, while the late-fee window runs through 20 August 2026. The prescribed CSEET examination fee is ₹1,500 and the late fee is ₹250.
For candidates who need to change their examination centre, ICSI has provided a separate service window from 21 August to 1 September 2026 up to 16:00 hours. A centre-change request carries a fee of ₹250 for each change. ICSI also states that a request to change the examination centre within the same city or zone, where multiple centres exist, is not allowed.
Important payment checks before the deadline
ICSI has advised students not to treat generation of a Request ID or Transaction ID as proof that payment has succeeded. Candidates should verify the payment status and ensure that a valid fee receipt has been generated. Examination applications without a valid fee receipt may be rejected.
Students are also advised to retain a copy of the fee receipt. Where an amount is debited but the system does not generate an acknowledgement, the candidate should verify the payment status with the banker rather than assume that the examination form is complete.
Special rule for Canara Bank challan payments
For examination fee paid through Canara Bank challan, ICSI treats the date of cash deposit with the bank branch as the eligibility date. The Institute says reconciliation and transfer of the amount can take around three to four days, after which the formal payment receipt or acknowledgement can be generated.
Students who generated a challan up to 15 August had to deposit the cash by 15 August to avoid late fee. Those generating a challan between 16 August and 20 August must deposit the cash by 20 August inclusive of the applicable late fee. ICSI states that applications relating to deposits made after 20 August will be rejected without further notice.
SIP is a mandatory eligibility requirement
The official announcement also confirms an eligibility requirement for students registered under the restructured CSEET course. Candidates who want to appear in the October 2026 examination are required to complete the Online Student Induction Programme (SIP). ICSI has provided separate SIP guidance on its student training portal.
What candidates should do now
- Complete the October 2026 CSEET examination enrolment by 20 August if the form is still pending.
- Confirm that the ₹1,500 examination fee and applicable ₹250 late fee have been successfully paid.
- If using a Canara Bank challan, ensure the cash is deposited by 20 August rather than merely generating the challan.
- Download and retain the system-generated fee receipt or acknowledgement.
- Complete the mandatory SIP requirement if applicable under the restructured CSEET course.
- If a centre change is required, use the separate 21 August-1 September window and follow ICSI's centre-change restrictions.
With the late-fee window ending on 20 August, candidates should rely on their ICSI online account and the official announcement to confirm that both enrolment and payment status are complete. Waiting for a payment reconciliation after the statutory cut-off can create avoidable risk, especially for challan-based payments.
