ICSI Publishes List of Members Removed for Non-Payment of FY 2026-27 Membership Fee: Restoration Position Also Updated

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has published a list of members whose names stand withdrawn from the Register of Members with effect from 1 July 2026 because their annual membership fee for financial year 2026-27 was not received by 30 June 2026. ICSI has also released a separate restoration list of members whose membership was restored between 1 July 2026 and 5 August 2026. A member who missed the deadline should read both lists together before concluding what their current status is.

What ICSI published

The Institute's What's New section carries two member-status documents. The first lists members whose names stood withdrawn from the Register of Members with effect from 1 July 2026 for non-receipt of the FY 2026-27 annual membership fee up to 30 June 2026. It identifies each member by serial number, membership number, name and region. The second PDF lists members who restored their membership for FY 2026-27 up to 5 August 2026, again with membership number, name and region.

The two lists separate an initial withdrawal for non-payment from a later restoration. A name in the withdrawal list does not mean the member is still out of the register today; the restoration list, and any restoration recorded after 5 August 2026, must also be checked.

The fee that fell due and the 30 June deadline

ICSI's notice on payment of annual membership fee and certificate of practice fee for FY 2026-27 states that both fees became due on 1 April 2026 and that the last date for payment was 30 June 2026. The amounts, inclusive of 18% GST, are:

The same notice allows a 75% concession for members aged seventy years and above, and a 50% concession for Divyangjan members on submission of a medical certificate issued by a competent authority. Payment is accepted in online mode only, through the Member Portal on www.icsi.edu. Before paying, a member has to complete the mandatory KYM (Know Your Member) form on the portal.

How restoration has worked

ICSI's earlier removal lists set out the route back. In its list of members removed for non-receipt of the FY 2024-25 fee, the Institute said members could restore their membership by applying in Form BB with the annual membership fee for the year including GST, an entrance fee of Rs 2,360 and a restoration fee of Rs 295. That list also stated that any error or omission noticed later would be rectified.

ICSI's restoration guidance for defaulting members describes the online steps: log in to the members portal on www.icsi.edu with the ACS or FCS number as username, go to Manage Account and then Restoration of Old Defaulter Members, upload a scanned copy of Form BB duly filled and signed, and pay the arrears with the entrance and restoration fees. Restoration is effective from the date ICSI receives Form BB. Password resets and queries go through support.icsi.edu. Members restoring for FY 2026-27 should check the current amounts on the portal at the time of applying.

Who should check the lists

Practising Company Secretaries who use their membership for professional engagements, declarations, certifications or empanelments should pay particular attention to their status. The certificate of practice fee for FY 2026-27 fell due on the same date as the membership fee. A member whose name appears in the withdrawal list but who believes the fee was paid on time should raise it with ICSI through support.icsi.edu and keep the payment receipt and any restoration acknowledgment on file.

Companies, audit firms and compliance teams that record a Company Secretary's membership number in engagement letters, board papers or filings should confirm that the membership is active on the date the document is signed. The published PDFs are reference points; the live position is what the Institute's records show on that date.

What to do now

• Search the withdrawal list and the restoration list for your membership number.
• If your name is in the withdrawal list and not in the restoration list, log in to the member portal, complete the KYM form and file Form BB with the fee.
• If you paid by 30 June 2026 and still appear in the withdrawal list, write to support.icsi.edu with the payment proof.
• Members aged seventy and above, and Divyangjan members, should claim the concession available under the FY 2026-27 notice while paying.

The withdrawal is an administrative consequence of non-receipt of the annual fee. It is not a disciplinary finding, but it can hold up any work that needs an active membership until restoration is recorded.
