ICSI Publishes List of Members Removed for Non-Payment of FY 2026-27 Membership Fee: Restoration Position Also Updated

Current development
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has published a list of members whose names stood withdrawn from the Register of Members with effect from 1 July 2026 because their annual membership fee for financial year 2026-27 had not been received by 30 June 2026. ICSI has also made available a separate restoration list showing members whose membership had been restored from 1 July 2026 up to 5 August 2026.
What ICSI has published
The Institute's current What's New section carries two linked member-status documents. The first is titled as the list of members whose names stood withdrawn from the Register of Members with effect from 1 July 2026 due to non-receipt of the annual membership fee for FY 2026-27 up to 30 June 2026. The underlying PDF identifies affected members by serial number, membership number, name and region.
A separate ICSI PDF lists members who had restored their membership for FY 2026-27 up to 5 August 2026. That document likewise gives membership number, member name and regional affiliation. The publication of both lists allows members to distinguish between an initial withdrawal for non-payment and a later restoration recorded by the Institute.
Why the 30 June cut-off matters
For the FY 2026-27 cycle reflected in ICSI's publication, 30 June 2026 is the date used to identify members from whom the annual membership fee had not been received. The withdrawal list states that the affected status is with effect from 1 July 2026. Members who expected their membership to remain active should therefore not rely only on whether a payment was initiated; they should verify whether their name appears in the Institute's published status lists and whether any subsequent restoration has been recorded.
Members should check both lists
The restoration document is important because a member appearing in the withdrawal list may not necessarily remain in that position indefinitely. ICSI's separate restoration list records members restored during the period beginning 1 July 2026 and running through 5 August 2026. A current status check should therefore take both documents into account.
Practising Company Secretaries and professionals using their ICSI membership for professional engagements, declarations, certifications, empanelments or institutional records should pay particular attention to the status shown by the Institute. Where a member's name appears in the withdrawal list but the member believes the fee was paid or the membership has since been restored, the prudent step is to verify the present position directly through ICSI's member services and retain the relevant payment or restoration records.
What firms and compliance teams should review
Firms, companies and compliance teams that maintain internal records of Company Secretaries may also need to ensure that membership information used in engagement records or professional documentation is current. The published PDFs are useful reference points, but the member's latest status should be confirmed where a filing, certification or appointment depends on an active professional membership.
The development is also a reminder for members to track annual professional-body dues separately from other continuing compliance requirements. A missed fee deadline can create an avoidable administrative issue even where there is no underlying professional misconduct or disciplinary finding. The ICSI publication is specifically linked to non-receipt of the annual membership fee for FY 2026-27.
Key takeaway
ICSI's latest member-status publication shows that non-receipt of the FY 2026-27 annual membership fee by 30 June 2026 resulted in names standing withdrawn from the Register of Members with effect from 1 July 2026. Because ICSI has also published a restoration list updated through 5 August 2026, members should check both documents before drawing conclusions about their current status and should verify any discrepancy directly with the Institute.
