ICSI Opens Free Answer-Book Copy Facility for June 2026 CS Exams From August 26

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has announced a facility for students of the June 2026 CS examination session to obtain copies of their evaluated answer books through the ICSI Examination Answer Book Portal without filing an RTI application.

According to the Directorate of Examinations notice, the portal will become operational for students from 26 August 2026. ICSI says the copies will be available free of cost through the dedicated answer-book portal.

Who can use the facility

Any student seeking a copy of his or her evaluated answer book for a subject from the June 2026 examination session can apply. ICSI states that an evaluated answer book is personal information and will be supplied only to the student concerned.

The Institute has asked students to use its own answer-book portal rather than the RTI website for this purpose, noting that the evaluated answer books are being made available through the dedicated system.

How the process works

The notice says answer-book copies are ordinarily supplied within ICSI's record-retention period of 45 days from the date of declaration of result, stated in the notice as running until 9 October 2026. Students facing difficulty in accessing the answer books are asked to contact the Institute within that record-retention period.

What if a student also seeks verification or inspection?

ICSI says that where a student simultaneously applies for Verification of Marks, Certified Copies or Inspection of Answer Books, the application will be handled under those respective guidelines and the answer books will be made available after completion of the prescribed procedure.

The notice also says that a student who, after accessing an answer book, wants to raise a grievance regarding an error or inconsistency in valuation should use the prescribed Verification of Marks route under Regulation 42(2) of the Company Secretaries Regulations, 1982. The relevant time limit is within 60 days from declaration of result or 15 days from accessing the answer book, whichever is earlier.

Restriction on sharing

ICSI has expressly stated that copies supplied through this facility are for the student's self-inspection, personal reference, guidance and bona fide educational purposes. The notice prohibits placing the answer books or portions of them in the public domain or on social media and warns against public comments on valuation based on those copies.
