ICAI CA Intermediate September 2026 Revision Sessions Start 20 August: Four-Day Paper-Wise BoS Schedule

Current development

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India's Board of Studies will begin its Success at CA Exam sessions for CA Intermediate students appearing in the September 2026 examinations on 20 August 2026. The official four-day virtual programme is designed as a final-stage revision and exam-strategy series covering all six Intermediate papers.

The sessions run from 20 to 23 August and are split into morning and afternoon slots. ICAI says the programme will cover subject-specific insights, exam-oriented tips, case-scenario MCQ strategy, descriptive-answer techniques, important questions from Mock Test Papers and Revision Test Papers, revision planning and common mistakes.

20 August: Advanced Accounting and Corporate & Other Laws

The programme opens on Thursday, 20 August. The 11 AM session covers Paper 1: Advanced Accounting, followed by Paper 2: Corporate and Other Laws at 2 PM.

Students can use the day to consolidate high-weightage concepts and focus on presentation. Advanced Accounting requires both technical accuracy and speed across adjustments and standards-based questions, while Corporate and Other Laws rewards structured application of legal provisions to the facts presented in the question.

21 August: Income Tax and GST

Friday, 21 August is devoted to taxation. The morning session covers Paper 3, Section A: Income-tax Law, while the 2 PM session covers Section B: Goods & Services Tax.

This split is useful because the two sections demand different revision methods. Income-tax preparation often requires careful rate, provision and computation mapping, whereas GST revision involves a combination of concepts, procedural rules, place-of-supply issues and tax-credit mechanics. Students should keep the latest ICAI study material and applicable amendments ready during the session.

22 August: Costing and Audit

On Saturday, 22 August, ICAI schedules Paper 4: Cost and Management Accounting at 11 AM and Paper 5: Auditing and Ethics at 2 PM.

The contrast between these papers makes the day particularly useful for exam-strategy review. Costing is highly calculation-driven and depends on efficient working-note presentation, while Audit requires concise technical language, recall of standards and disciplined answer structure. Students should use the BoS sessions to identify whether their problem is conceptual weakness or exam execution.

23 August: Financial Management and Strategic Management

The final day, Sunday 23 August, covers Paper 6, Section A: Financial Management in the morning and Section B: Strategic Management in the afternoon.

For Financial Management, candidates should focus on formula selection, interpretation and step-wise working. Strategic Management, by contrast, benefits from quick revision of frameworks and the ability to connect theory to a case or business situation.

How to access ICAI's sessions

ICAI's announcement states that students can join through the BoS Knowledge Portal. The login path is: access the portal, enter course and registration details, select the Success at CA Exam section, choose the relevant paper and join the Zoom session.

The Institute also lists access through the ICAI BoS mobile app and ICAI CA Tube on YouTube. Students should still treat the BoS Knowledge Portal as the primary official source for the session schedule and course-linked access.

How to use the programme effectively

The biggest risk with final-stage revision sessions is passive viewing. Students will gain more if each session is integrated into a short feedback loop: attempt a recent MTP or RTP question before the session, note the areas where the faculty's approach differs, and then revise the same topic immediately afterwards.

- Prepare a one-page weak-area list for each paper before 20 August.

- Keep the relevant MTPs and RTPs open during the session.

- Note recurring presentation or time-management advice rather than only technical points.

- After each day, attempt one or two questions from the topics discussed.

- Use the four-day programme to finalise the revision order for the remaining days before the examination.

Why the timing matters

The sessions begin close enough to the September 2026 examination to function as a final diagnostic but still leave students time to act on what they learn. This makes them more useful when treated as a revision checkpoint rather than a substitute for independent preparation.

Students who are behind on the syllabus should avoid trying to convert every session into full-course learning. The stronger approach is to use ICAI's faculty guidance to prioritise high-value revision, common errors and answer-writing issues while continuing a separate paper-wise study plan.

Key takeaway

ICAI's four-day Success at CA Exam programme for CA Intermediate September 2026 candidates begins on 20 August 2026 and runs through 23 August, covering all six papers in morning and afternoon virtual sessions. Students should use the programme as a structured final-revision checkpoint, combine it with MTP and RTP practice, and use the faculty guidance to refine exam-writing and time-management strategy.
