Current development
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced two Mock Test Paper series for CA Final students appearing in the November 2026 examinations. According to the Board of Studies (Academic) announcement dated 10 August 2026, Series I will begin on 9 September 2026 and Series II will begin on 23 September 2026.
The mock tests will be available in physical and virtual modes. Students who want to participate physically can approach the relevant ICAI branches in their area, while question papers and answer keys will also be made available through ICAI's Board of Studies platforms.
CA Final November 2026 Mock Test Series I schedule
Series I starts with Financial Reporting on 9 September 2026. The remaining papers follow across September, giving students a full six-paper simulation before the second series begins.
- 9 September 2026: Paper 1 – Financial Reporting
- 11 September 2026: Paper 2 – Advanced Financial Management
- 15 September 2026: Paper 3 – Advanced Auditing, Assurance and Professional Ethics
- 17 September 2026: Paper 4 – Direct Tax Laws & International Taxation
- 19 September 2026: Paper 5 – Indirect Tax Laws
- 21 September 2026: Paper 6 – Integrated Business Solutions
The announcement states that the papers in Series I are scheduled from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Series II begins on 23 September
ICAI has also scheduled a second full mock-test series so that students can reassess their preparation after working through the first round.
- 23 September 2026: Paper 1 – Financial Reporting
- 26 September 2026: Paper 2 – Advanced Financial Management
- 28 September 2026: Paper 3 – Advanced Auditing, Assurance and Professional Ethics
- 30 September 2026: Paper 4 – Direct Tax Laws & International Taxation
- 3 October 2026: Paper 5 – Indirect Tax Laws
- 5 October 2026: Paper 6 – Integrated Business Solutions
Series II therefore runs into early October, leaving candidates time after the mock tests to analyse performance and revise weaker areas before the November examinations.
Question papers will be uploaded before each mock test
ICAI states that the question paper for each subject will be uploaded on the BoS Knowledge Portal and the BoS Mock Test Paper registration portal by 1:30 PM on the scheduled test date. Students using the virtual mode can download the paper and attempt it within the stipulated examination time.
This allows students who cannot attend a physical ICAI branch session to still use the same official paper under timed conditions. For a realistic practice session, candidates should avoid looking at discussions or solutions before completing the paper independently.
Answer keys within 48 hours
The Board of Studies announcement also states that the answer key for each mock test will be uploaded within 48 hours from the date and time of commencement of the respective paper.
Students can use the answer key to compare their approach with the expected solution and identify issues such as incomplete coverage, weak presentation, poor time allocation or technical mistakes. The exercise can be particularly useful for papers such as Financial Reporting, Advanced Financial Management and taxation, where both technical accuracy and exam-time execution are important.
Physical and virtual participation options
The Mock Test Paper series will be conducted through physical and virtual modes. Students interested in the physical mode may contact ICAI branches or regional offices. ICAI has also provided access through the BoS Knowledge Portal, the ICAI BoS mobile application and the dedicated MTP registration portal.
For students attempting the papers virtually, the most useful approach is to recreate examination conditions as closely as possible: start at the scheduled time, complete the full paper within three hours and review the official answer only after finishing the attempt.
ICAI's separate 'Success at CA Exam' sessions start in October
ICAI has also announced that its Board of Studies' Success at CA Exam sessions for CA Final November 2026 candidates will start from 6 October 2026. These virtual sessions are intended to provide subject-specific insights, study-plan guidance, exam-writing techniques and discussion of common mistakes.
That timing is notable because the sessions begin immediately after Series II of the mock tests concludes on 5 October. Students can therefore use the September and early-October MTPs to identify weaknesses and then use the BoS sessions for targeted revision and exam strategy.
How students can use the two mock-test series effectively
- Attempt Series I as a diagnostic exercise rather than waiting for full syllabus confidence.
- Review the ICAI answer key and maintain a paper-wise error list after each attempt.
- Use the gap before Series II to revise high-error chapters and improve presentation.
- Attempt Series II under stricter examination conditions to measure improvement.
- Carry unresolved technical and exam-writing issues into the BoS sessions beginning 6 October.
Key takeaway
CA Final students appearing in November 2026 now have an official two-stage mock-test calendar from ICAI. Series I begins on 9 September 2026, Series II on 23 September 2026, question papers are scheduled to be released by 1:30 PM on each test date and answer keys are to follow within 48 hours. Students who use both series as timed simulations can convert the official MTP programme into a structured revision and performance-review cycle before the November examination.
