About the company
Ameriprise Financial
Ameriprise Financial traces its roots to 1894, when John Tappan founded Investors Syndicate. The business later became IDS, was bought by American Express in 1984 and ran as American Express Financial Advisors until it was spun off in 2005 as an independent company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (ticker AMP). Headquartered in Minneapolis, Ameriprise is known mainly for financial planning and advice, alongside asset management under the Columbia Threadneedle Investments brand. Its wholly owned Indian subsidiary, Ameriprise India LLP, was set up in 2005 in Gurugram and later added offices in Noida and Hyderabad. Teams there support the group's businesses in the US and the UK.
Finance roles at Ameriprise India are based in Gurugram and Noida. They span cash management (cash analysts and senior cash analysts), controllership, private and hedge fund accounting, international indirect tax, support for the group's financial advisers, and finance transformation work that brings AI tools into finance processes. The postings ask for a finance or accounting qualification, usually a B.Com or BBA, and some prefer or require an MBA in Finance; others accept a graduate or postgraduate degree in finance, commerce, business management or operations.
