About the company
Nokia Corporation
Nokia's history began in 1865, when Fredrik Idestam set up a pulp mill on the Tammerkoski rapids in Tampere, Finland; in 1871 he and Leo Mechelin formed Nokia Ab. The present Nokia Corporation was created in 1967 by merging Nokia with Finnish Rubber Works and Finnish Cable Works. Nokia was the best-selling mobile phone brand by 1998, but sold its phone business to Microsoft in 2014. It bought Alcatel-Lucent in a deal that closed in 2016, and US optical networking company Infinera in February 2025. Today it makes mobile, fixed, IP and optical network equipment and software for telecom operators, licenses its technology, and runs Nokia Bell Labs. Headquartered in Espoo, it is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki and the New York Stock Exchange. In India it operates mainly through Nokia Solutions and Networks India Private Limited, with its headquarters in Gurugram. It has run a telecom equipment factory near Chennai since 2008, and has large R&D centres in Bengaluru and Chennai and global delivery centres in Chennai and Noida.
Its finance openings in India are in Noida and Gurugram: a global accounting specialist for intercompany accounting and reconciliations, who needs seven or more years of experience, and a group treasury specialist, who needs a postgraduate degree in finance, economics or business administration, preferably an MBA, and more than ten years in corporate treasury, banking or structured finance.
