RSM US India | Tax Senior Associate - Real Estate Funds & Real Estate Investment Trust

Responsibilities

• Preparing complex tax returns and review simple tax returns: Real estate fund, holding entity and property partnership returns (Form 1065); REIT (Form 1120-REIT); and corporate blockers (Form 1120).
• Preparing state and local tax returns, composite and withholding filings for client in the Real Estate industry.
• Preparing quarterly and annual REIT Testing compliance.
• Completing tax planning and research regarding specific tax issues 

Requirements

• Understanding tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
• 2+ year of experience in business taxation working for a Big 4 or a large national, regional or local accounting firm in the real estate industry.
• Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, EA or a licensed JD.
• Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm.
• Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance within the real estate industry.
• Experience in dealing with international tax matters a plus.
• Experience in dealing with real estate debt matters a plus.
• Experience preparing returns
