About the company
Shell
Shell's history in India goes back to 1928, when it began operating here as Burmah Shell. The group's parent, Shell plc, is incorporated in the United Kingdom and has been run from London since it simplified its share structure in 2022; its shares trade in London and Amsterdam, with ADSs on the NYSE. Shell is an integrated energy and petrochemicals group. In India it sells fuel through its own retail stations, blends lubricants at Taloja in Maharashtra and operates the Hazira LNG receiving terminal in Gujarat. It also has a technology centre in Bengaluru and a finance operations centre in Chennai that works for Shell businesses in other countries.
Chennai is where Shell's India finance roles are based. Current examples include FP&A advisers and managers, a controller lead role and analysts who handle trading settlements. Postings generally prefer a professional accounting or finance qualification, an MBA or a degree in accounting, finance or business, and one senior reporting role asks for an accounting qualification with ten or more years in financial reporting.
