Responsibilities and impact

• The team assists clients with post-trade valuation of alternative investments, focusing on debt and equity positions where no active market quotations are available.
• Our team of experts delivers unrivaled insights and leading data and technology solutions, partnering with customers to expand their perspective, operate with confidence, and make decisions with conviction.

• Perform valuations on a wide range of illiquid investments across industries and geographies using S&P's valuation methodologies.
• Report valuation results to clients and handle client queries.
• Contribute to the design and enhancement of the financial models used to perform valuations.
• Work with management to maintain client relationships.
• Support the team in responding to client price challenges and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Attend relevant industry events to broaden knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry.

Requirements

• Experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models (e.g., DCF, comparable company, commodity contracts/forecasts, intangible asset models).
• Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Commercial awareness and experience responding to client price challenges.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of several industry sectors, e.g., Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Food & Drug Retailing, Healthcare Providers & Services, or Software & IT Services.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams across a variety of functions.
• Experience maintaining and prioritizing client relationships.
