UBS India | Research Analyst - Mining Sector

Responsibilities

• You’ll be working in Hyderabad, India, and collaborating with Metal/Mining research team based in London to perform equity research and analysis of publicly traded companies
• Work closely with London-based sell-side analysts to deliver high-quality equity research on European Small and Mid-Cap companies.
• Provide end-to-end research support, including sector coverage, company analysis, and generation of investment ideas.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform valuations, and conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Prepare and contribute to initiation notes, earnings updates, thematic reports, and ad-hoc research publications.
• Support analysts in responding to internal and external client requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of research databases, sector trackers, and financial dashboards.
• Develop marketing and client presentation materials in line with research outputs.
• Ensure adherence to internal quality standards, timelines, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of finance, accounting, and capital markets.
• Proven experience in financial modelling and equity valuation techniques.
• Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to articulate investment views clearly.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across geographies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Exposure to market data platforms such as Bloomberg or equivalent is preferred.
• Candidate must have 1-5 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience covering European equities (any sector) is desirable.
