Responsibilities
- Participate in underwriting and loan closing of transactions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within scope of responsibilities for Secured Lending Underwriting functional area.
- Review and analyze basic business challenges within Secured Lending Underwriting functional area that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives.
- Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise in Secured Lending Underwriting functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with Secured Lending Underwriting colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders, including internal and external customers.
- Deliver accurate credit decisions within agreed turnaround times.
- Maintain portfolio quality and adhere to risk overlays.
- Ensure compliance to policies and regulations
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and support process improvements.
Desired qualifications
- Experience with underwriting platforms, loan origination systems, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros).
- Proven track record of handling complex transactions and high-value deals.
- Exposure to sectors like real estate, manufacturing, or trade finance is a plus.
- Knowledge about Gen AI Tools
- 4+ years in credit underwriting or portfolio management within commercial or secured lending.
