Accounts payable teams make sure suppliers are paid correctly and on time. Daily work includes checking invoices against purchase orders and goods receipts (the three-way match), coding expenses, handling vendor queries, maintaining vendor master data, preparing payment runs and reconciling supplier statements. Larger procure-to-pay teams also cover purchase requisitions, employee travel and expense claims, and duplicate-payment checks. In Indian entities the role usually includes TDS deduction on vendor payments and matching GST input credit with supplier filings, which adds a statutory angle to otherwise process-driven work.

Entry roles carry titles such as process associate, AP analyst or accounts executive, progressing to senior analyst, team lead and P2P manager. B.Com and M.Com graduates form the bulk of hiring, and CA Inter or CMA Inter candidates are often considered for review and team lead positions. Expect questions on invoice posting in SAP or Oracle, Excel lookups and pivot tables, and accruals for unbilled expenses. Global teams frequently work US or UK shifts.
