About FP&A Jobs in India
Financial planning and analysis sits between the accounts and the business. FP&A teams build annual budgets and rolling forecasts, explain variances between plan and actuals, prepare monthly MIS and board packs, and track margins, unit economics and cost drivers. In global capability centres the work is often aligned to a regional or product business abroad, while in Indian companies it may also include capex evaluation and pricing support. The common thread is turning accounting data into decisions that managers outside finance can act on.
Titles move from financial analyst or FP&A analyst to senior analyst, finance business partner, FP&A manager and head of planning. CA, Indian CMA and US CMA holders bring cost and reporting depth, while MBA Finance and CFA candidates often bring modelling and presentation strength. Employers ask for advanced Excel, driver-based modelling, Power BI or Tableau, and sometimes planning tools such as Oracle EPBCS, Anaplan or SAP BPC.
