UK accounting roles are usually split more finely than in India. Financial accountants own statutory accounts and month-end close, management accountants handle budgets, forecasts and business partnering, fund accountants and fund administrators look after net asset values and investor reporting, and internal auditors review controls across the business. Tax roles cover corporation tax, VAT and international tax, and larger groups also hire for group consolidation and technical accounting.
Employers look for strong month-end and reconciliation discipline, IFRS or FRS 102 knowledge, ERP skills such as SAP, Oracle or Workday, and clear written English. A sponsored work visa is needed for most candidates applying from India, so internal transfers within multinational groups and roles that state sponsorship are the most practical routes. When a listing names a professional qualification it will usually accept ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CA or an equivalent, so state your qualification and its UK equivalent clearly in your CV.
