About CPA Jobs in India
The US CPA, the Certified Public Accountant licence granted by US state boards of accountancy, is sought in India mainly by organisations that serve American clients or report under US GAAP. Typical roles include US GAAP reporting analyst, SEC reporting specialist, technical accounting associate, SOX and internal controls tester, US tax associate for federal and state returns, and audit associate on US engagements. Big 4 and mid-tier audit networks, capability centres of US companies, banks and accounting outsourcing providers account for most of this demand.
Employers commonly test US GAAP topics such as revenue recognition under ASC 606 and leases under ASC 842, along with PCAOB or AICPA audit standards, US tax forms and tools such as Excel, NetSuite, SAP or Oracle. Many Indian candidates combine the CPA with CA, ACCA or M.Com, and some listings accept any one of these.
