The Big 4 and other advisory firms have some of their largest Indian offices in Gurugram, covering risk advisory, deals and valuations, and finance transformation. Finance operations firms in Gurugram and Noida run FP&A, reporting and accounting for global clients, and card, payments and banking companies run analytics and risk teams in the region. Corporate headquarters in Gurugram and Delhi add corporate finance, treasury and business finance roles.
With so many employer types in one region, NCR suits graduates who want to try more than one track: a first role in advisory or a capability-centre FP&A team often leads to industry corporate finance within a few years. Delhi itself adds the head offices of public sector companies and financial institutions, which recruit through their own notices rather than open listings, so watch their career pages if you are also preparing for those routes.
Gurugram has the widest mix: Big 4 and consulting offices, corporate headquarters, and banks’ and card companies’ India centres. Noida is home to large finance operations and IT services companies. Delhi has fewer listings, mostly at head offices and firms. Finance jobs in Gurgaon and finance jobs in Noida carry related roles.
Risk advisory covers internal controls, process reviews and regulatory risk; deals support covers financial due diligence and valuation; finance transformation covers process and systems change in clients’ finance functions. Analysts gather and analyse data, build models and draft reports under managers. The pace is fast and the learning broad, and many people move to industry corporate finance after three or four years. See advisory jobs.
It can be, if you treat it as a base. Operations roles teach the general ledger, reconciliations and reporting at scale, and stronger employers move people into FP&A, controllership or transition roles after a year or two. Ask in the interview how often people move to analytical roles and how long it usually takes.
Treasury and cash management, business finance partnering for divisions, budgeting and planning, investor relations support and M&A support at larger groups. These roles value industry knowledge, so pre-MBA experience in the same sector helps. See corporate finance jobs.
Yes, mainly into credit and fraud risk, portfolio analytics, pricing and FP&A. These teams work with large customer data sets and expect SQL or a statistics tool alongside Excel, plus a clear grasp of how card and lending products make money: interest, fees, losses and acquisition costs.
Advisory firms often add a case and an Excel exercise; corporates ask about financial statements, working capital and a business you know well; operations firms test accounting basics and Excel; card and payments companies test analytics more heavily. Prepare for the format of the employer, not only the job title. The interview questions guide covers each.
