About R2R (Record to Report) Jobs in India
Record to Report covers the work that turns daily transactions into a closed set of books. Typical tasks include posting journal entries and accruals, fixed asset and intercompany accounting, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close checklists, and variance or flux analysis before results go to controllers and auditors. Most roles sit in finance operations centres that support global businesses, though Indian corporates also hire general ledger accountants. Titles usually move from associate or analyst to senior analyst, then team lead or assistant manager, and later close lead or manager.
B.Com and M.Com graduates usually enter at associate level, while CA Inter, CA, CMA and ACCA candidates often join as senior analysts or move quickly into review roles. Employers commonly ask for SAP or Oracle experience, strong Excel, a clear grasp of accrual accounting and familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS for global processes. Many teams work UK or US hours, and close weeks can run long. In interviews, be ready to walk through a reconciliation you prepared and explain how you cleared an old open item.
