CMA December 2026 Admit Card: ICMAI Sets 16 November Deadline for Pending Documents

CMA December 2026 Admit Card

Students waiting for the CMA December 2026 admit card have a new date to work to. The Directorate of Studies of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) has issued circular DOS/CIRCULAR/10-01//2026 dated 26 October 2026, asking every student due to appear in the December 2026 term examinations who still has a pending requirement to submit the missing documents on or before 16 November 2026. If the documents do not reach the Institute by then, the circular warns that the Examination Department may not be able to issue a regular admit card for the December 2026 term.

The circular is short, but it lands at an awkward point in the calendar. Exam forms for all three levels have already closed, the papers start on 10 December 2026, and the admit card is the one document a candidate cannot sit the examination without. A student who filled the form in time but whose eligibility record still shows an open item now has under three weeks to close it.

Which pending documents the 26 October circular covers

The ICMAI Directorate of Studies circular of 26 October 2026 names three kinds of pending requirement, split by level. The table sets them out against the deadline and the stated consequence.

LevelPending requirement named in the circularSubmit byIf not submitted
FoundationProvisional Admission documents16 November 2026Regular admit card may not be issued
IntermediateProvisional Admission documents16 November 2026Regular admit card may not be issued
FinalPractical Training documents16 November 2026Regular admit card may not be issued

Provisional admission is the route that lets a student register before the qualifying mark sheet is in hand. In the December 2025 cycle the Institute spelt out what that meant in practice: the 10+2 pass mark sheet for Foundation students and the graduation mark sheet or an equivalent certificate for Intermediate students. For Final students, the open items were the Practical Training documents and the IOTP Training documents, with Practical Training Form T5B listed separately.

The Directorate says it has been sending reminders by email. Students are asked to keep checking the email address and mobile number registered with the Institute, and to check where their own record stands on the ICMAI eligibility-checking page at eicmai.in/Eligibility-Checking before assuming nothing is pending.

Why the December 2026 deadline is stricter than last term's

The real change is in timing. For the December 2025 term, the Institute dealt with these gaps after the examination. Its circular of 17 December 2025 for provisional admit card holders, Ref. DOS/CIRCULAR/12-01/2025, called itself a final reminder and set post-exam due dates: 5 January 2026 for the Foundation 10+2 mark sheet, 31 January 2026 for the Intermediate graduation mark sheet and for Final Practical Training and IOTP documents, and 10 February 2026 for Form T5B. The penalty then was that the result would not be published, in line with the undertaking the student had signed on the provisional admit card.

This time the Institute is asking for the same kind of paperwork before the examination and linking it to the admit card itself. The circular does not say that a provisional admit card will be issued to anyone who misses 16 November, nor does it rule that out. What it does say is that a regular admit card may not be possible. A student who leaves the documents until after the exam, as was possible last term, is taking a risk the circular now spells out.

CMA December 2026 exam dates the admit card will cover

The admit card, once issued, will be for the papers fixed in the Institute's August timetables. Under the Intermediate and Final Examination Time Table and Programme for December 2026, both levels run from Thursday 10 December to Thursday 17 December 2026. Final papers are written from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and Intermediate papers from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Final opens with Corporate and Economic Laws (P-13) and closes with the elective paper (P-20A, P-20B or P-20C) on 17 December; Intermediate opens with Business Laws and Ethics (P-05) and closes with Management Accounting (P-12) the same day. Results for both levels are to be published by 5 February 2027 at the latest.

The Foundation Course Examination Time Table and Programme for December 2026 puts all four Foundation papers on Sunday 13 December 2026, in an offline, OMR-based multiple-choice format with no negative marking. Papers 1 and 2 are from 10:00 am to 12 noon and Papers 3 and 4 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, each paper carrying 50 questions of two marks. The Foundation result is due by 7 January 2027 at the latest, and the notice says detailed instructions will come with the admit card.

The exam-form windows have closed. Intermediate and Final forms were due by 10 October 2026, or by 17 October 2026 with the ₹500 late fee, and Foundation forms by 14 October 2026, or by 21 October 2026 with the late fee. Both timetables add that only a candidate fulfilling all conditions specified for appearing will be allowed to sit, which is the rule the 26 October circular now applies to pending documents.

How a December 2026 candidate should work through the next three weeks

Start with the eligibility-checking page and the registered email inbox, because a reminder from the Directorate is the clearest sign that something is open on the record. A Foundation or Intermediate student who registered on provisional admission while results were awaited should now have the 10+2 or graduation mark sheet, and should send it rather than wait for the exam to pass. A Final student should check that the Practical Training and IOTP Training documents are both shown as received, since the circular lists them separately and either one can hold up the record.

Leaving a margin before 16 November also helps. A document sent on the last day that turns out to be unreadable or incomplete leaves no time for a second attempt before admit cards are prepared. The Institute's admit card page on the student section of icmai.in still shows the June 2026 term link, so the December 2026 link has not gone live yet. Examination queries go to exam.helpdesk@icmai.in, the address given in both December 2026 timetables.

Syllabus cut-off for the same December 2026 term

Students clearing their paperwork should also note the Directorate's earlier clarification of 15 September 2026 for the December 2026 term, Ref. DoS-Academics/09/2026. For Intermediate and Final under Syllabus 2022, it makes amendments up to 31 May 2026 applicable for the Companies (Cost Records and Audit) Rules, 2014, CAS 1 to 24, the Companies Act, 2013, the Finance Act, 2025 provisions, GST, and Ind AS, XBRL and CSR reporting. The next date that matters for every pending-document case is 16 November 2026, with the first paper less than four weeks after it.
