ICSI Opens Registration for 7th Board Mentorship Programme in Port Blair
Read Time:
Registration is open for the 7th ICSI Board Mentorship Programme, scheduled from 7 to 10 October 2026 at Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The programme is being presented by the Institute of Governance Professionals of India, an ICSI initiative, and is aimed at board members, independent directors, key managerial personnel, business leaders, professionals, industry experts and senior management.
What the programme covers
ICSI's programme material positions the four-day event as a governance and board-leadership programme rather than a routine compliance seminar. The tentative modules cover the legal environment of boards, SEBI regulations affecting directors, sustainability and ESG, and board-meeting governance under Secretarial Standard-1.
The legal-environment module includes appointment and removal of independent directors, registration with IICA, due diligence before accepting a board position, directors' duties and liabilities, and governance standards. The SEBI-focused module covers LODR, ICDR, insider-trading rules, board controls, enforcement mechanisms, liability of independent directors and practical defence considerations in regulatory proceedings.
ESG, board process and practical governance
The programme also includes ESG and sustainability topics such as the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report framework, the National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct and the board's role in corporate strategy. Another module focuses on Secretarial Standard-1, board-meeting compliance, mock board meetings, and the practical drafting of minutes and resolutions.
ICSI states that participants are expected to receive a joint certificate from ICSI and IGPI. The brochure also lists 10 CPE hours for ICSI members.
Programme schedule
The tentative schedule begins with registration on 7 October followed by sessions on the board's legal environment and SEBI regulations impacting directors. The second day includes ESG and governance modules. The later programme includes experiential and networking elements, with feedback and certificate distribution scheduled on the final day.
Who may find it useful
The programme is particularly relevant for practising Company Secretaries, governance professionals, senior finance and compliance executives, independent directors and professionals preparing for board-level roles. For CA Samaaj readers working in listed-company compliance, corporate finance, governance, internal controls or board advisory, the SEBI enforcement and director-liability modules may be especially relevant.
