ICSI Opens Free CSEET June 2026 Answer-Book Copy Facility; Record-Retention Window Runs Till August 29

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has highlighted a facility for students of the CSEET June 2026 session to obtain copies of their evaluated answer books through the ICSI Examination Answer Book Portal. The official notice says the facility is available without filing an RTI application and that copies are available free of cost through the designated portal.

August 29 is the key retention date

ICSI states that evaluated answer books are supplied within the prescribed period under its record-retention schedule, ordinarily for 45 days from the date of declaration of result. For the June 2026 CSEET session, the notice states that this period runs till 29 August 2026.

The Institute says any student may seek a copy of his or her answer book. Because the evaluated answer book is treated as the student's personal information, it will be supplied only to the student concerned.

How students can access the answer books

The official notice directs students to apply through https://cc.icsi.edu. The portal has been operational for students from 16 July 2026. After applying, ICSI says a user ID and password are sent to the student's registered email from cpioexam@icsi.edu. Those credentials are then used at the answer-book viewing location on the same portal.

ICSI specifically asks students to use the portal for evaluated or scanned copies rather than the RTI website, stating that the answer books are available free of cost at the portal. The notice distinguishes between the "Apply Answer Books" function for requesting copies and the "View Answer Books" function for accessing them.

What if a student also seeks verification or certified copies?

ICSI says that where a student applies simultaneously for Verification of Marks, Certified Copies, Inspection of Answer Books and the portal copy, the applications will be processed under their respective guidelines. Certified copies, inspection and answer books will become available after the prescribed procedure is completed.

The notice also explains the next step where a student, after accessing an answer book, wants to raise a grievance over an error or inconsistency in valuation. Such a student should apply in the prescribed form with the requisite fee for Verification of Marks under Regulation 42(2) of the Company Secretaries Regulations, 1982 through the Student Login on the ICSI SMASH Portal. The stated time limit is within 60 days from declaration of result or 15 days from access to the answer book, whichever is earlier.

ICSI says the supplied answer book is for the student's exclusive self-inspection, personal reference, guidance and bona fide educational purposes. The notice prohibits making the answer book, or parts of it, available to others or placing it in the public domain or on social media.
