ICSI Holds IFSCA Certificate-Course Online Assessment on August 22, 2026

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is conducting an online assessment on August 22, 2026 for candidates enrolled in its certificate courses focused on the regulatory framework of International Financial Services Centres. ICSI’s GIFT IFSC course page provides the live assessment link and admit-card access for the August 22 session.

Which IFSCA certificate courses are covered

The ICSI assessment framework covers three tracks: Regulatory Framework for Capital Market Intermediaries in IFSC, Regulatory Framework for Fund Management in IFSC for Alternative Investment Funds, and Regulatory Framework for Fund Management in IFSC for Retail Schemes. The Institute’s assessment notice states that candidates should appear according to the course applicable to them.

Assessment format and timing

ICSI’s course material describes the assessment as remote proctored and MCQ-based. For the capital-market-intermediaries course, the test consists of 100 questions carrying one mark each, with a duration of 90 minutes and no negative marking. The fund-management course material likewise specifies a remote-proctored MCQ assessment with 100 questions, 90 minutes and no negative marking.

The Institute’s assessment instructions say that assessment links remain active between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on the scheduled assessment day, allowing candidates to begin within that window. Candidates are also required to participate in the prescribed mock test for the applicable assessment cycle.

Fees, passing criteria and certification

The official ICSI course material lists an assessment fee of ₹1,500 plus GST per attempt. The passing criterion is a minimum of 50% marks. Successful candidates receive an e-certificate, and the course material states that the certificate remains valid for three years from the date of issue.

For ICSI members, successful completion carries 15 structured CPE credits. The courses are delivered through the ICSI LMS on a self-paced basis, with study material made available on the platform and LMS access stated to remain active for one year.

Who can enrol

ICSI lists CS, CA and CMA professionals among the eligible participants. ICSI Executive and Professional Programme students and graduates in any stream from a recognised university are also listed as eligible. The registration fee shown in the course material is ₹3,000 plus GST, separate from the assessment fee.

What the courses cover

The Capital Market Intermediaries course focuses on the legal and regulatory architecture for entities operating in an IFSC, including broker-dealers, clearing members, debenture trustees, investment bankers, custodians, investment advisers, distributors, credit-rating agencies, ESG ratings and data providers, research entities, global access providers and depository participants.

The fund-management course covers the IFSC fund ecosystem, including AIFs and retail schemes, along with fund structures, regulation, governance, taxation, risk management and related frameworks. ICSI’s course material notes that the course is accredited by the International Financial Services Centres Authority under the cited IFSCA circulars.

What candidates should check now

Candidates appearing for the August 22 assessment should use the official ICSI GIFT IFSC page for the live assessment and admit-card links, confirm the applicable course track, and keep the remote-proctoring requirements ready. Those planning a later attempt should rely on the current ICSI assessment notification for the relevant fee window, admit-card date, mock-test date and main-assessment date.

The August 22 online assessment is part of ICSI’s growing IFSC-focused professional education framework. For CA Samaaj readers working in securities, fund management, compliance or GIFT City-related roles, the courses provide a structured route to study the IFSCA regulatory environment, while current candidates should verify their admit card and assessment access only through the official ICSI links.
